2007 Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley ~ Estate Grown ~ OUR VINEYARD: We are located on Starr Road in the Russian River Valley. The position of our vineyard and seasonal creek make a pleasing visual corridor. A mixture of native oak and eucalyptus trees follow the waterway and the vines, comprised of a field blend of Dijon clones 115, 667, 777, receive full sun throughout the growing season. 2007 Pinot Noir
THE 2007 HARVEST: Our grapes were hand picked during the early morning hours on September 8th and arrived at the winery while still cool. The fruit was sorted, gently destemmed and placed into small, open topped fermentation bins. WINEMAKING PROCESS: A four day cold soak preceded inoculation with Assmannshausen yeast. Hand punch downs were done 3 times a day for a period of 8 days. At dryness, free run juice and gently pressed must was delivered directly into 35% new french oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrels and wine was kept on lees and stirred monthly until bottling. TASTING NOTES: AROMA: Forward cranberry, raspberry, cherry. Slight cinnamon and rose petal. TASTE: Cranberry fruit entry, soft mouth feel, medium body. Red fruit flavors. OVERALL: Pleasant, varietal with nice red fruit character. You MUST be 21 year or older to order wine.
